As you plunge into the book of Job, you may find it confusing. Me , too! I have read through this book several times and I still have questions! Don’t let your questions make you quit. Press on. Ask the Lord to show you truth and try to glean even one thing this week.
It might be helpful to have a bit of an overview to guide you - God is allowing Satan to bring disaster into the life of His beloved servant, Job. In the midst of unspeakable pain and grief,Job is visited by friends who seek to console him.
For days they sit in silence. If they had remained so, they would have been better off! These friends are convinced that God is punishing Job for secret sins and they implore him to repent. Job asserts his innocence. In his protestations, he is not only insulted by his friends, he also declares that God will vindicate him.
